Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity moved on January 9, 2000 into its newly renovated offices at Community Presbyterian The occasion was marked by the festive banner you see here on the side of the church; participation in the morning worship service; and a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony.
Community Presbyterian has been involved with Habitat for many years, and now we are closer than ever. Her Paquita Schoellhorn presents the "Moment for Missions" during morning worship.
Worship was followed by a pot luck lunch in combination with the Inland Empire Presbyterian Fellowship, the other congregation in the building. Each time we do this there is more and more intermingling of the two congreations.
The children, after the Children's Time in worship, when to their Sunday School class and created banks for Habitat. Then during the potluck, they went around with them and took up a collection. Here you see some of those banks being presented to Habitat.
Finally the big time arrived. Sue Pope, office manager for Habitat, cut the ribbon marking the formal opening of the offices.
It didn't take long. Here in the out office, people were already gathering and work was beginning as soon as the ceremony was over.
